Keltouma's Mixed Technique Azilal

This rug was handwoven by one of the artisans in Keltouma's association. Keltouma resides in a village just outside of Beni M'rirt which is located within the Middle Atlas Mountains.  She's the leader of a 20 women, one of which is pictured.Similar to the Beni Ourain weave, Azilal rugs tend to have undyed sheep’s wool for its base and vibrant colors used for the design elements. While the weave is less dense than the Beni Ourain it’s still as plush as it looks.
