An exhibited Faience Amulet of Khonsu, 21st Dynasty, <br><em>ca. 1069 - 945 BCE</em>
very finely rendered glazed composition, the Theban moon god shown in profile in the distinctive mummiform shape. Only his hands can be seen emerging to grasp a large was-scepter: a long, straight staff with a forked lower end and a stylized animal head on top (a symbol of power). He wears a moon cresent on his head with a sidelock of hair and a straight false beard, and a broad collar with counterpoise of pale blue glaze.
