Villa Creek x Satellite - 'Field Dog' - Zinfandel Blend - Adelaide Hills, Paso Robles, CA - 2023

From this month's Wine Club Writeup: What’s in this bottle anyhow? It’s Field Dog - A Field Blend from Maha Villa Creek Vineyard in High West Paso Robles. It’s about 2/3rds Zinfandel with the balance comprised of carignan (20%), Syrah (12%), Petite Sirah (5%), and Mourvedre (3%). This is the secret recipe of “Firm but Fun”. The other is one of the wines that started it all for me - possibly the first, but definitely the most memorable chilly red of my wine journey. The Feints by Ruth Lewandowski is always an achievement - a wine that captures my heart and my tongue and has me begging for more by late summer (It’s almost always all gone by August).
