This 1.375 inch long, 15.1 carat Besednice Moldavite Flying Spiky Teardrop Specimen displays a unique shape created by this gemstone's dramatic origin story.  Like other good Moldavite specimens it has a complex irregular surface and a biomorphic form, which indicates the meteoric origins of this amazing gemstone, which travelled through the atmosphere and liquefied upon impact with the Earth. The liquid moldavite was then propelled by the impact through the atmosphere for many miles, forming the unique shape and surface irregularities that cooled into this gemstone's present form. We obtained this beauty from the collection of Robert Simmons of Heaven & Earth many years ago, when the Besednice mines were still producing substantial amounts of top quality material, and it comes complete with a certificate of authenticity from Robert himself. Properties of Moldavite Moldavite is a rare bottle-green translucent stone of unearthly origins, more rare than diamonds, rubies or sapphire
