Selmer Mark VI 55xxx 5 Digit 1954 Alto Saxophone w/ Double S Neck!

For sale is a stunning Selmer Mark VI 5 digit alto saxophone! This horn is a prime golden era Selmer serial #55xxx with its matching #55xxx neck! This sax is featuring the incredibly rare Double S Neck!  This saxophone is is an extremely coveted 1954 first year Mark VI! This saxophone is a highly special piece.  The horn isnt just a first year Mark VI but its actually one of the earliest Mark VI alto saxophones off the Selmer factory line!  According to the Selmer serial number chart the very first Mark VI alto was #55,390.  This saxophone is #55,8xx.  Thats approximately 400 horns apart, however during this serial spread they were making sopranos, altos, tenors, baritones, maybe some sopraninos or basses.  SO all that amounts to this horn somewhere around the 100th Mark VI alto ever to be produced, possibly even lower.   This horn will need a full overhaul and pad job to be a functional saxophone and is not playing at all right now.
