DARK NIGHT OF THE SCARECROW (1981) The Motion Picture Score by Glenn Paxton Directed by Frank De Felitta ABOUT THE FILM: When young Marylee is mauled by a vicious dog, local postal worker Otis (Charles Durning) assumes that it must have been Bubba (Larry Drake), a large mentally challenged man who is her friend. Otis raises a lynch mob with three other locals to hunt down Bubba. Bubba’s mother disguises him as scarecrow and hides him in a nearby field, but the mob’s track and gun him down. The lynch mob learns that it was a dog attack, and that Marylee is ok, so they place a pitchfork at the scene to make it appear that he was attacking them. They are found innocent in court. A few days later a mysterious scarecrow is seen standing in one of their fields and he is found dead the next morning. The scarecrow soon visits each member of the lynch mob and exacts revenge.
