For sale is a 10k yellow gold reverse-carved moonstone crescent moon "man in the moon" ring with Australian opals.  This one of a kind Victorian era antique is magical. The cabochon oval moonstone has been reverse-carved on the flat side, leaving the front smooth and domed.  A crescent moon is carved into one side of the oval.  Mr. moon wears a quirky smile, and has beautifully detailed facial features.  Tiny twinkling stars are carved into the other side of the moonstone.  The moonstone has that wonderful quality known as adulerescence, the eerie blue glow that seems to shift across the moonstone as you move it in the light.  The moonstone is secure in a prong setting.  Two tiny round opals are set on each side of the moonstone. The opals flash with green and purple fire, harmonizing beautifully with the blue glow of the moonstone.
