Two planters of the same size can be stacked or the small planter can sit on one end of the large planter giving a stair step look. The stacking kit will work for the above scenarios.   Stacked planter suggestions: We suggest filling the lower planter with gravel or some other material which will not settle. We recommend only putting soil in the top planter at 18” or less deep. If you fill the entire 3 feet with soil, the compaction and settling will need to be addressed
