Organic oval dangles made from a clay slab of little purple butterflies, green leaves, and red, pink, yellow, and orange flowers. The small shapes lie on a translucent background, which creates a beautiful effect when the light shines through! Because of the way the slab was made, each pair is one of a kind! Made with polymer clay, gold plated brass jump rings, and hypoallergenic stainless steel stud posts. Named after Sylvia Rivera, a Venezuelan-Puerto Rican trans woman who pioneered LGBTQ+ activism. Alongside Marsha P. Johnson, she created the STAR (Street Transvestite Action Revolutionaries) organization, which provided a home for homeless trans people in New York in the 1970s. Sylvia’s Place and the Sylvia Rivera Law Project continue to honor her legacy by working towards LGBTQ+ rights.
