Its mophead flower panicles bloom from late spring throughout summer with color that depends on the soil PH - soft blue in acidic soils, and pink tones in alkaline soils- and age to a faded vintage cream with splash of green. The flowers attract butterflies and pollinators. Best bloom in partial sun and rich, moist well-drained soils.
