Magenta Magic Yucca is a nearly stemless dwarf evergreen shrub with large, slightly arching, sword-like dark green foliage that darkens to purple in fall.  A central stalk rises in summer bearing long panicles of fragrant creamy-white flowers followed by berries.  Best color with full sun and well-drained soils.  Magenta Magi is heat and drought tolerant. Yucca filamentosa is a southeastern native that hosts the Yucca Giant-Skipper and the Cofaqui Giant Skipper butterflies.  The nectar provides for hummingbirds and other moths and butterflies, while the berries are eaten by small mammals.
