Druzy Butterfly Necklace

This necklace was designed and handmade in our home studio just outside of Seattle, WA. Each necklace starts with a high quality gemstone to which a bail is added. A copper bezel is then electroformed around the stone to create a durable bond between metal and stone elements. The entire piece is then sent out to be further plated in silver at a thickness ten times the industry standard. This results in an heirloom quality piece that can be enjoyed for years to come with proper care. Druzy is tiny mineral crystals that form on the surface of another stone. Quartz is the most common stone to form druzy, but not the only stone to grow in this sparkly formation. The color variations in druzy are often caused by a layer of stone underneath the quartz. Druzy can form anywhere there is a place for water to collect and evaporate from rock, making it most commonly found along rivers or shorelines. It can be found in a wide range of colors and shapes, from sparkling white to deep blue or purple,
