From the glass dragonfly wings of art nouveau jewelers to the curving floral vessels of the cloisonne masters, glass enamel can provide near infinite options for adding color to your metal. In this class, students will take the very first step and learn how to fuse powdered enamel onto sawed copper. This class is a prerequisite for second level enameling courses such as champlevé, cloisonne, and graphite fusing. At the end of class, you will make one sugar fired, one transparent over white, and one sgraffito sample based on demonstrations.
