Expanded Kidney Health Test (KED)
An expanded at-home collection kit to assess kidney function The Expanded Kidney Health Test measures key markers in both urine and blood to assess kidney function. These marker levels can provide valuable insights to discuss with your healthcare provider and help identify potential risk factors as part of your kidney health assessment. This test measures the albumin-to-creatinine ratio (ACR), which assesses the presence of protein in urine. Protein in urine is a sign of kidney dysfunction and helps detect kidney disease early, allowing for timely intervention and management. In addition, this test also measures the creatinine level in your blood to estimate your glomerular filtration rate, or eGFR. The eGFR gives us an estimate of how efficiently your kidneys are filtering waste from your bloodstream. Lower eGFR values can indicate reduced kidney function or early stages of kidney disease, and allow for early monitoring, lifestyle changes, or treatment to help protect your kidney heal
