Raw Metal will rust overtime, could contain scratches as well as different patina throughout. Sealant is not added to the raw metal option unless requested as "clear coat". The clear coat will not change the look of the raw metal.  If exposed to direct weather / moisture, the clear coat will most likely need reapplied periodically as this is not a powder coated finish and the clear coat could fade and the metal could rust overtime.  If a paint color is chosen as the finish, primer and clear coat will be applied to the back of the sign. Primer and a metal safe paint will be applied to the front of the sign to help prevent rusting. We do not recommend hanging this sign in the direct weather elements.
