There were hundreds of layers and every artist tool used to achieve the level of depth, textures and sophisticated colors which include deep smoked warm grays, clays, light concrete and rusts to name a few. While working on this piece over many months my thoughts were filled with questions and with every layer there was another answer. On the 112th day I stepped back and set my brush down for the final time, I sat staring at the large piece for hours. There was no question that the title for this piece had to be “The Answer” – With every photo of artwork, collectors always rave the photos don’t do the art justice, paintings are always more beautiful in person and that couldn’t be truer particularly with this grand piece.
