In this issue, we discuss the role scripture plays in the Christian life. Holy Scripture is not built into our hardware. In fact, when it comes to the Gospel, Scripture actually runs contrary to our nature. We are wired for another message completely, ever since the Fall. At some point, we have to decide whether we will live off of spiritual platitudes or delve deeply into the sacred text for ourselves. To do that we must know what we're looking for in Scripture and know how to interpret the text, especially when it appears to us that there are contradictions within Scripture itself.
