2019 Domaine du Meix-Foulot Mercurey 1er Cru

  With 6 years of age, even for a premier cru, this wine is starting to show secondary characteristics, with the slightest brick notes showing a cool underpinning of naval orange, some truffle, mushroom, forest floor, granite and other exotic minerals.  The opening up is cool and it should be fun to watch this progress for maybe another 5 years.  On the palate, the fruit is light and bouncy; tingling and jovial.  Fresh fruit with a good bite and a meditative finish.
