2020 Domaine Vincey Brut Nature Blanc de Blancs 'Chemin de Chalons,' Le Mesnil-Sur-Oger Grand Cru

"The 2020 Blanc de Blancs Le Mesnil-sur-Oger Chemin de Châlons, sourced from an old massal selection in a southeast-facing plot located next to Chétillon, is another success this year. Disgorged in May 2024 without dosage and matured for a full year in oak barrels (about 20% new), it delivers a more demonstrative, muscular Le Mesnil interpretation compared to Auge, informed by a bit deeper clay topsoil and a warmer mesoclimate. Marine Vincey reveals that fruit in Chemin de Châlons reaches full maturity about six days earlier than in Auge. Jumping from the glass with scents of yellow stone fruit, beeswax and brioche, it's a textural, fleshy wine with ripe but lively acidity, complemented by pillowy mousse (WA, 93 points)."
