2022 Douhairet-Porcheret Volnay 1er Cru 'Champans'

This Champans embodies everything that is great about Volnay; aromatics, texture, length and sheer pleasure. 4200 bottles per vintage. Average age of the vines: 80 years. Grapes are hand-harvested and carefully sorted. 100% destemmed, fermented in wood vats for 12 to 20 days with daily pump over and punch down. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels (Tronçais), 10% new for 18 months on average.
