
Domaine Dujac, Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru
Founded by the now legendary Jacques Seyss, this iconic domaine is now run by his sons Alec and Jeremy, and Jeremy’s wife, Diana Snowden who has a degree in oenology from UC Davis and is from a prominent winemaking family in Napa. Together, and under the still watchful eye of Jacques, the team continues every vintage to make wines that clearly place this property in the very top tier of Red Burgundy. Though the second generation has made some very small adjustments, the style and vision of Jacques continues without interruption. That includes a healthy percentage of whole cluster fermentation and aging in barriques (although they do have a few concrete eggs for the Chardonnays). The Domaine is in Morey-Saint-Denis, and that remains the heart of their holdings, but it has expanded into some of the best terroirs of neighboring Chambolle-Musigny and Gevrey-Chambertin.
