The Tree of Life 01

The fire burns slow, but sure. A forest near Puchikunta, in South India, smoldered when it was cleared, possibly, for farming. I've uploaded an image that I took of it in 2007. In this painting, I chose a Cool Palette, because I wanted to contrast the beauty of Nature with the Flames that I saw. The work is dedicated to a South Indian Classical Music Composer I love: Shyama Shastri (1762 – 1827 CE), for his composition "Palinchu Kamakshi" (Grant protection, Oh, Goddess Kamakshi/ Mother of the Universe) in ragam Madhyamavati. I've written the dedication in Telugu, faintly, in the lower left region, above the yellow line.
