Before the 1984 edition of the Jarocin Festival, it was already clear that interest in the artists was greater than ever before. Something was in the air. It was going to be a unique event. The number of applications from young bands had increased significantly. There was an impressive number of debuts, which poured in on demo tapes to the festival committee from all over the country. The organizational requirement to send demo tapes motivated musicians to record their best work. At a time when the possibilities for releasing records and even cassettes were minimal, thanks to this requirement, a large archive of demos from that period were preserved. Today, this body of surviving work represents enormous value in terms of the musical culture from the 1980s in Poland. During this time, punk bands had few other opportunities, and this was an incredible chance to record their material.
