His stage name "Kokayi" is taken from the Swahili word meaning "to summon the people". Kokayi keeps busy on multiple fronts with several solo and side projects. He is one half of the electro-hop duo Dastardly (with DJ/Producer Sharkey) and a member of the long-time Afropunk outfit TheCaesarz.
