Lian Qiao (Qing - Forsythiae Fructus
Description Forsythiae Fructus 青連翘 O Organic Grade Note: Additional pesticide testing is done to all organic herbs, since certified organic does not mean pesticide-free. Description: Did you know there are two types of Lian Qiao (Forsythia)? This is Qing Lian Qiao. Most materia medica list two versions of Lian Qiao. Lao Lian Qiao which is harvested in the late Fall is the type we normally see in the West. It is the opened, dried seed pod, bereft of seeds. Qing Lian Qiao, which is harvested in the early Fall and steamed, is darker in color and sometimes has unopened seed pods. It is sometimes called Dai Zi Lian Qiao (Lian Qiao with seeds) because the pod contains the young, undeveloped seeds. Most sources consider Qing Lian Qiao superior, especially in its ability to clear heat and resolve toxin. It also smells really good! COAs Please find the Pesticides test results here
