early to mid twentieth century60" x 13", 152.5 cm x 33 cmThis is a beautiful length of hand woven, indigo cotton dyed in the egasuri or picture kasuri method. It shows a repeat pattern of tigers and the pairing of bamboo and a sparrow: two full images of each of these designs can be seen. Overlaid onto these images is a large, window pane plaid in narrow, double bars in an orange color. The images are clear and clean as is the overall condition of this used textile: the color is clean, clear and crisp. A lovely length of kasuri cloth.
