A Length of Striped Kasuri Boro Panel: Bold Patches

early to mid twentieth century61" x 13", 155 cm x 33 cm This is a handsome length of cotton boro cloth.  Its base cloth is a wide, woven stripe with narrow, warp-directional kasuri details, easy to see in the detail photos here. This rustic length is generously studded with five, big, hand-applied patches of cotton that are evenly staggered down its length and very prominent in the length's design. The length shows overall wear, as can be expected, but it is a very handsome boro cloth with a really wonderfully attractive base. Beautiful.
