Based out of Japan's Iwate Prefecture, one of the northernmost provinces, Gorsch was born into a quiet rural life, taking inspiration from antique German tailoring and early proto-workwear. The garments are beautifully constructed, frequently making use of deadstock vintage textiles, with tailored silhouettes and unisex styling. Gorsch's Fall/Winter 2024 styles are a continuation of the Spring/Summer collection, taking inspiration from the wardrobe and personal style of a local grape farmer, Mr. Sasaki, and his wife, Kanako. They run a small farm in Iwate's Shiwa District, growing grapes for white, red, and orange natural wines using what Gorsch refer to as "natural farming principles" - having purchased and restored an abandoned vineyard to produce naturally fermented wines.
