An exquisite late 19th-century French settee, or canapé, crafted in the grand Louis XVI style and sourced directly from Provence, France. Beautifully hand-crafted from solid wood, the settee features an elegantly curved back frame, adorned with intricately hand-carved decorative detailing around the entire frame. The wood showcases a naturally aged painted patina in warm antique white, with charming distressed areas. The settee has been structurally revised and was reupholstered in France with luxurious dark green velvet, clean-finished with spaced brass nailhead trim. It is supported by eight elegantly tapered, fluted hand-carved legs ending in toupie feet, typical of Louis XVI style.
