PERFECT & MIRROR POLISHED 4.5" Madagascar Petrified Wood Slab - Unusual Premium Round with Upgraded Polish!

This is a nicely shaped and beautifully patterned petrified wood round brought to life with an exceptional polish that we do right here in the Sticks in Stones rockshop! This is a virtually perfect example of an uncommonly cleanly preserved fossil from Madagascar. I have seen a few examples of this trunk before but I have yet to find a reliable identification as to exactly what it is. It shares many characteristics with calamites that I found in Brazil but I do not have enough info to pin this one down. The growth structure is dominated by fine rays and a hollow pith that appears to have filled with sediments. It's a gorgeous and interesting piece and the only one from this trunk that I have. The fossil forest that this tree comes from is roughly 200 million years old! It's one of the nicer, well preserved and finely detailed pieces we have prepared from this fossil wood forest and it's in a wonderful smaller size that is still big enough to be loaded with amazing wood grain pa
