The roar of the engines that had filled the air during the weekend's auto race had been replaced by the gentle patter of raindrops on the track. As I stood at the edge of the empty grandstands, I closed my eyes and listened carefully. And there it was - a faint but unmistakable sound that could only be the distant echo of a revving engine.
