Manos del Uruguay is an established, non-profit yarn company, founded to create jobs and a living wage for women in rural Uruguayan villages. The yarn is luxurious, and the artisans are the owners. Profits are split between them or invested back into the organization. Manos del Uruguay is also a full member of the World Fair Trade Organization - recognized for their kindness to people, the environment, and animals (no mulesing here). This yarn is the full package and I'm delighted to be able to promote it further. Franca is a single-ply bulky with a super soft, silky feel. This yarn works up quickly and is 100% superwash merino.
