Allspice is not a blend of several spices but a whole spice by itself. Allspice berries are the unripe fruit from the Pimenta tree. Also called Jamaican pepper, allspice is an important flavor in Caribbean cuisine and can be found in a variety of dishes. A key ingredient in jerk seasoning and berbere, try using allspice to mull wine, spice cookies, and flavor sausages and pickles. Allspice pairs well with cloves, pepper, and cardamom. It's warm and sweet flavor makes it a great addition to both savory and sweet dishes.
