No. 1385 "It Was Time for Louise to Bloom" Portrait Platter

An original oil portrait of a Louise on an antique, Victorian flow blue and white transferware platter with a botanical border of tiger lilies; 14"x10.5"; entitled "It Was Time for Louise to Bloom".  THE STORY: Inspired by literature, my portraits have novelistic titles that hint at the adventures of their heroines.  THE CHINA: Many of my paintings are set in antique saucers and dishes which not only work as unexpected frames but add a layer of historical narrative on top of the origin story. Each piece has a unique blend, so that some are more romantic, some more exotic, and some more otherworldly.
