Description In 1979 Bob Stanley produced a series of Beets silkscreen prints that, according to the portfolio description "makes brilliant use of the medium to specifically unite the popular image with the fine art serigraphic process. The result is a portfolio of color, black and white, and hand colored prints that are unique and particularly individual in concept and presentation." During periods in his career Stanley was described as a "Pop" artist.  Silkscreen prints are often associated with the Pop Art movement because the process lends itself so well to the application of bold outlines of flat color. Stanley liked using found objects as a basis for his art, but it usually took the form of photographs, postcards, coloring books, and even trash.  We think Stanley just couldn't resist the beautiful, almost sensual outline of the commonplace beet.  We think they look great in a kitchen.
