Description This vase was designed by Martin Freyer for Rosenthal's Studio Line.  Called the Pleated Vase due to its resemblance to pleated fabric, it was made in various onion-shaped sizes.  This is another functional piece that we believes does double duty as a gorgeous piece of sculpture. Details White bisque porcelain Stamped on bottom 6" tall, 6" diameter Excellent condition About the Designer Hans Martin Freyer (1909-1975) was a German painter and designer. He was born in Hanover, Germany and studied at the Darmstadt University of Technology. In 1933, he spent time in the Balkans, Italy, France and Switzerland. After returning to Germany, he studied at the University of Fine Arts, Berlin and the Reimann School.  For the next four decades Freyer enjoyed a diverse career that included work both in the United States and in Germany as a landscape architect, as well as a designer of interiors, theatrical sets, logos (including the VW logo) and industrial products.
