Our thermal Flow meters feature our proprietary MEMS time-of-flight mass flow sensor installed in a laminar flow channel that forms a boundary layer ensuring laminar flow exists in the desired measurement area. A thermal time-of-flight meter works well for methane and natural gas applications because it directly measures gas mass flow based on heat transfer, making it highly accurate even at low flow rates and low pressures, without needing external temperature or pressure compensation. Thermal time-of-flight meters work well for boilers because they accurately measure flow in high-temperature, variable conditions without obstructing the flow or being affected by pressure and density changes. Conventional thermal mass flow meters have sensitivity to the thermal properties of the gas as well as to the gas flow conditions.
