DescriptionDescription The medulla is the inner part of your adrenal gland and produces hormones which regulate your autonomic nervous system.   The adrenal medulla secretes catecholamines, hormones that help your body respond to stress, such adrenaline and noradrenaline.  Adrenaline is also known as epinephrine and noradrenaline is known as norepinephrine.
