Traditionally Hand Carved Statue The Buddha Maitreya  We, the artists, have traditionally crafted this statue of the Buddha Maitreya in a purely handcrafted technique. Carved from a pure copper body, gilded with genuine 24k gold finely painted with acrylic paint to highlight the details of the statue. The deity is depicted sitting upon a moon disc lotus with both legs crossed. The Dharmachakra Mudra, a hand position used in teaching and spinning the Wheel of Dharma, is formed by his hands when they are folded close to his heart. He holds the stem of a lotus flower in each hand between the thumb and index finger, signifying his radiance and purity.
