Clotaire Michal, part of the Beaujolais's new generation of natural winemakers, formerly worked as a sommelier and apprenticed under the renowned Cornas producer, Thierry Allemand. Libre Pensée comes from 80-year-old vines planted on sandy granite soils. It goes through semi-carbonic fermentation and sees no added sulfur.
