Cave Dew Pinot Noir

This is a lifted and prettier expression of Pinot Noir, said to be an homage to the winemaker's time doing deep dives of Burgundy. It is drawn from two high elevation sites in the Santa Cruz mountains: Hunter Hill more coastal bordered by redwoods, and Kadlecek Vineyard, close by the winery. This was 50/50 destemmed and whole cluster. The nose opens with tart cherry and blackberries balanced by cedar and gentle earth aromas. The palate is light with tart zippy red and black fruits, cedar, and a bit of turned earth to round out the palate. This is made native ferment with low sulfur throughout, and leans to the lighter and crunchier end of the Pinot Noir spectrum 50% whole-cluster, 50% destemmed. Cherry, blueberry, and earth.
