Overview The Self Testing Emergency Light is designed to eliminate the physical and time consuming requirement for emergency light testing. OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) requires that emergency lights (lamps and batteries) are tested for 90-seconds every month and for 90-minutes once per year. For facilities that feature more than 10 emergency lights or lights that are located in hard to reach locations, this becomes a time-consuming, taxing task. Self-testing emergency lights eliminate this requirement by automatically testing the unit on a regular basis. Conventional emergency lights feature a push button for battery testing while self-testing emergency lights feature electronics on the inside of the unit that complete the 90-second and 90-minute test. The results of the test are displayed by a series of LED lights on the bottom of the unit.
