When I was kid in 1965, the "Gang Green" Fiat Coupe was the "State of the Art" as far as I was concerned.
The car was originally build for, and raced by Mike Sorokin. Ed Wedle built the chassis and Bob Joy built the motor, the car was painted red, and was unbeaten in the B/C Coupe class.
When Mike got the opportunity to drive the "Suffers" car in 64, the Fiat was sold to Dick Ikkanda, and Bob Joy. They painted the car Blue, and campaigned it for another year. it was then sold to Dick's younger brother Marty and his friends, Mike Nakamura,  Bucky Metcalf, and Manuel Talamantez,
Marty and the gang wanted to paint the car green, so the moniker "Gang Green," became the obvious choice for a name. Powered by a Bob Joy built Chevy small block 283, the car set the NHRA B/C Coupe record at 130.97 mph with a 10.60 et.
