A common question we are asked is " Why is this beam so much more than your 8ft beams". The reason for the cost difference is the beams weight, construction method and cost to ship. This beam weighs 140 lbs vs 42lbs for our 8ft beams. Because we have a longer span between the beam legs the beam must be much stronger and a different construction method and additional materials are used. The weight capacity also increases to 300 lbs. Because of the length of the beam it must be shipped with a freight carrier as opposed to FedEx or UPS and this substantially increases the cost to ship.
