Blood Pythons are aptly named for their intense, rusty-red coloration their scales have; some believe that their name truly comes from the fact that this species is fairly aggressive and unpredictable, drawing blood when they strike the hand that feeds! This could not be further from the truth, and in reality they are impeccable ambush predators that will not miss an opportunity to catch a meal.
