Six Eighty Cellars, Gruner Veltliner Concrete Tulip (2022)

REGION: Finger Lakes, New York COUNTRY: United States GRAPE(S): Grüner Veltliner BODY: Medium ABV: 10.9% TASTING NOTES: Aromas of orchard fruit, briny Castelvetrano olives, fresh hay, and lemon peel lead to savory apple skins and tarragon on the palate. The wine has a soft, round texture, finishing clean and dry. WINEMAKING NOTES: Picked for optimal ripeness from their Skiff block just a few rows up from Cayuga Lake. Pressed directly into a 475 gallon Concrete Tulip, whose rounded bottom encourages natural lees stirring. Low porosity allows for a mild taming of the acid while contributing a soft texture. Aged on the lees for 10 months and lightly filtered. PAIRS WELL WITH: Pasta with lemon and tarragon cream sauce, Vietnamese banh mi, Grilled white fish like flounder or sea bass
