Beaucarnea Ponytail / Ponytail Palm

The Ponytail palm (Beaucarnea recurvata) is sometimes known as the Elephant foot plant, thanks to its broad, rounded stump. It's not really a palm, but it certainly is charming! This plant looks fancy, with its waterfall of long leaves, but it's surprisingly easy to care for. Just pretend it's a cactus and leave it alone. Care: Care Difficulty: Easy Light: Plenty of bright light, some direct sun OK. Can tolerate lower light, but will grow more slowly. 60-80°F, allow to get cooler in Winter to imitate dormancy patterns. Water: Allow soil to dry out between watering. Pet: Non-toxic. Cats are often drawn to biting the blade-like leaves, which may be annoying -- but at least it won't make kitty sick! Available for local pickup and delivery only.
