After growing up in California and the Philippines, she moved back to the US for college, obtaining a degree in psychology from Clark University before graduating with a concentration in photography from the school of the art institute of Chicago. Carlos’s images capture moments of quiet strangeness, patterns of light and shadow, minute-by-minute surprises, changes that don’t happen, something that's askew, something exactly in place -- across a range of natural and artificial phenomena.
