The Man With the Golden Gun by Ian Fleming, First Edition, Second State, in Original Dust Jacket, 1965
Fleming, Ian. The Man with the Golden Gun. London: Jonathan Cape, 1965. First edition, second state printing. Octavo printing. In the original publisher’s black cloth boards with gilt titles to the spine. In the original publisher’s dust jacket. This is the first edition of Fleming’s final James Bond novel, The Man with the Golden Gun. The first edition was published by Jonathan Cape, London, in 1965 and had a print run of 82,000 copies. It is presented here in its first edition, second state black cloth boards, with gilt titles to the spine. It retains its original dust jacket, with wrap-around artwork of a gun, flies, and bullets, as designed by Richard Chopping. Fleming wrote this final Bond adventure while ill and "was only able to work on it for one and a half hours a day" (Black, 75). Because of this, his publisher hired novelist Kingsley Amis to help complete and revise the book. It was published in 1965, the year after the author’s death. The Man with the Golden Gun tracks 00
