Exploring the Roots of Regenerative Agriculture

In this daylong workshop, we will explore the history and objectives behind the burgeoning movement of regenerative agriculture.   By discussing the principles of conservation agriculture - minimize disturbance, practice cover-cropping, and crop rotation - participants will walk away better understanding the role soil health plays in producing healthy crops, protecting against pests and disease, all while minimizing costs and labor.  Additionally, we will look at the history of agriculture, focusing in on four main revolutions that have reshaped how agriculture is practiced today.  We will take a brave and honest look at the plow, leading experts such as Wes Jackson to conclude "the plowshare may well have destroyed more options for future generations than the sword".  Our workshop will conclude on a hopeful note surveying  carbon farming and its potential to help reverse the climate crisis, followed by an inclusive round-table discussion on how to make change beginning in your own bac
